Glass Repairs & Emergency Glass Replacement Melbourne
Broken glass is stressful. Maison Glass & Aluminium provides fast, reliable glass repair and replacement for windows, doors, shower screens, and panels across Melbourne's bayside suburbs — same day or next day where possible.
Fast Glass Repairs & Replacement Across Melbourne Bayside
Whether a window has been broken by a storm, a child's wayward ball, a forced entry, or simply old age — Maison Glass & Aluminium provides fast, professional glass repair and replacement across Melbourne's bayside and south-eastern suburbs. We carry a range of common glass types so we can often attend and complete the repair in a single visit.
Window Glass Replacement
We replace glass in residential and light commercial windows of all types — single-hung, double-hung, sliding, awning, and casement windows. Glass types we carry include:
- Clear float glass — standard residential window glass in 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, and 6mm thickness
- Obscure glass — frosted, reeded, and patterned glass for bathrooms and privacy applications
- Toughened safety glass — required in low windows, bathrooms, and near doors under AS/NZS 1288
- Laminated glass — for security, acoustic, and overhead applications
- Double-glazed units (IGUs) — for aluminium-framed double-glazed windows
We assess the correct glass type for your application based on the location, size, and Australian Standards requirements — not just the cheapest option. Replacing a safety glass application with standard float glass is non-compliant and dangerous.
Sliding & Hinged Door Glass Replacement
Sliding door panels and hinged door glass are required by AS/NZS 1288 to be toughened or laminated safety glass. We carry 6mm toughened in standard sliding door widths and can source wider panels within 1–2 business days. We replace the glass in your existing frame — no need to replace the entire door and frame unless it is damaged.
Shower Screen Glass Replacement
Toughened glass in shower screens can shatter spontaneously due to nickel sulphide inclusion (a rare manufacturing defect) or as a result of impact. When this happens, the glass must be replaced — it cannot be repaired. We replace individual shower screen panels, fixed panels, and door panels, matching your existing hardware and frame where possible.
If your shower screen frame is also damaged, we can advise on whether a partial repair or full screen replacement is the more cost-effective option.
Splashback Replacement
Cracked or broken glass splashbacks can be replaced with a new panel matched to the original colour. We carry colour samples and can often match your existing splashback colour closely. Electrical cutouts are re-cut during fabrication — installation is typically completed in a half-day once the new panel is ready.
Glass Furniture & Table Top Replacement
We cut replacement glass tops for outdoor and indoor furniture, coffee tables, dining tables, and shelving — in clear, toughened, or smoked glass. Cut to your exact dimensions with polished edges for a quality finish.
Caulking & Resealing Services
Over time, silicone sealant around shower screens, windows, and glass installations can discolour, crack, or pull away from the surface — allowing water to penetrate and mould to form. We provide professional silicone caulking and re-sealing as a standalone service or as part of any glass repair.
Our caulking service includes:
- Complete removal of old silicone without damaging tiles, glass, or frames
- Surface preparation and priming for adhesion
- Application of quality sanitary-grade silicone in white, off-white, grey, or clear
- Neat, professional finish — tooled and smoothed
Proper caulking is the most effective way to waterproof your shower, prevent water damage to wall framing, and eliminate mould at the glass-to-tile junction. We recommend re-sealing every 3–5 years as routine maintenance.
Insurance Work
We provide detailed invoices suitable for home and contents insurance claims. If your glass has been broken due to a storm, break-in, or accident, contact us and we will advise on the documentation required to support your claim.
Our Glass Repair Process
Call or Enquire
Contact us by phone or online. Describe the breakage — glass type, approximate size, and location. We'll advise whether we can attend same day, next day, or within a few days depending on the glass required.
Site Assessment
We visit your property to measure the opening, confirm the correct glass type and thickness, and provide a fixed price quote before any work begins. No hidden costs.
Glass Supplied
If we carry your glass type we can often replace it in the same visit. For less common glass, we cut and prepare it at our workshop and return for installation — usually next day or within 48 hours.
Replaced & Sealed
We remove the broken glass safely, install the new panel, and seal all edges with quality silicone for a watertight, professional finish. We clean up all glass debris before leaving.
